Gina Castelain, Group Managing Director Born in Aurukun and educated there, in Cairns and Melbourne, Gina Castelain is a Wik and Wik Waya woman whose traditional country includes the Aurukun wetlands and the rich bauxite deposits north of Aurukun.

Angus Kerindun, Indigenous Lead/Machine Operator Angus is an experienced operator of a range of machines and is a senior Wik Waya traditional owner. He has an important to role in co-ordinating our operations with the traditional owners of the country on which we operate.

Wik Timber is part of the Wik Development Group and was formed for the benefit of Wik and Wik Waya traditional owners.  The Wik Development Group has a track record of success in establishing successful businesses on western Cape York – including Aurukun Earthmoving, the largest indigenous contractor to Rio Tinto’s Weipa operations.

Our vision is for Wik and Wik Waya people to be able to harness their natural abilities to live productive, imaginative lives in which they canmove between their own country, mainstream Australian life and the wider outside world. It is a vision of people who have cohesive, resilient families; strong cultural and personal identities; social justice; enhanced wealth and abundance; and better work and life choices.
